UConn Football Tickets
Once upon a time, cheap UConn football tickets were widely available, as the Huskies were just another FCS program. However, Connecticut took a chance and decided to compete at the highest level, ultimately winning a major conference championship. Nowadays, the Huskies have both an accomplished past and a bright future, making last-minute UConn football tickets in high demand for college football fans throughout New England.
Yankee Doodle Dandy
For 50 years, the Huskies made their home in the Yankee Conference at the FCS level. During that time, Connecticut won the league title only 15 times - they were an unexceptional program. However, a brief move to the Atlantic 10 Conference began UConn’s meteoric rise within the college football ranks. The Huskies reached the FCS Playoffs for the first time in 1998 before becoming an FBS independent in 2000 and ultimately joining the Big East as a football member in 2004.
Beast of the East
Randy Edsall is the person primarily responsible for UConn playing big-boy football. He took over the Huskies in 1999 and guided their transition to the Big East in 2004 when they went to a bowl game for the first time in program history. Under Edsall, the Huskies won the Big East championship in both 2007 and 2010. After the 2010 season, the Huskies received an invitation to the Fiesta Bowl, a feat that would have seemed impossible so soon after making the jump to the FBS level in 2000.
The Prodigal Coach Returns
Unfortunately for the Huskies, Edsall left the program after the 2010 season. Without him, the Huskies faltered, going to just one bowl game during the rest of the decade and becoming a basement dweller in the American Athletic Conference. However, sensing that the program he built was struggling, Edsall returned to Connecticut in 2017. After building the Huskies into a perennial bowl team once before, Edsall has plans to do it again, this time as an independent program.
