Meteoric Rise

In terms of wins and losses, the Panthers are the best expansion franchise in NFL history. Under head coach Dom Capers, Carolina went 7-9 in their first season, better than any other expansion team. They followed that up the following year with a 12-4 record, a division title, and a trip to the NFC Championship Game, matching their expansion brothers, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who played in the AFC Championship Game in their second season as well.
