About Ali Wong
Most of us found Ali Wong on Netflix, through her special Baby Cobra. We found the algorithm recommending we watch an hour of this tiny but heavily pregnant Asian woman we’d never seen before, and we were like, sure, okay.
Little did we know that an hour later, we would have a new favorite comedian. But that’s just the power that Wong has over people. That and the ability to make us pee a little bit when we laugh – thanks to those little blessings, the baby cobras of our own. If you don’t keep up with the comedy scene and its goings-on, you may not know that both Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife both got praise from much more famous comedians. What can Ali say? She’s just that good.
Ali’s Other Projects
When she’s not raising two kids or spending time with her husband, Ali is staying busy. Not only does she do standup on the road (sometimes), but she’s been lending her talents to film, too. If you’ve seen the series Big Mouth, you will recognize her voice as “Ali.” Creative character development, huh? She also recently starred in her own Netflix movie, called Always Be my Maybe. If you’re looking for an only-a-little-cheesy rom-com that’s actually funny, check that movie out.
A Woman with Ambition
Ali knew she was funny her whole life, but not everyone appreciated her humor at a young age. Thankfully she trusted her gut and kept pursuing comedy (first as a hobby), then as a full-on career. This mom-wife-actor-comedian has pretty much everything we’re looking for in the next comedy superstar, in a tiny frame. And if you get the chance to see her in person, you should! With two small children, she isn’t touring as much as she used to be right now.
