Alter Bridge Tickets
There’s an old saying that when one door closes, another one opens. It means that the end of one thing may seem like the end, but it might not be. That was the case when Creed announced their breakup in 2004. The news left a lot of rock fans feeling desperate and disappointed, but that feeling didn’t last for long.
Their hearts were healed by the announcement all of the members of Creed (minus Scott Stapp) would reform, and rename themselves Alter Bridge. If you’d like, you can think of Alter Bridge as Creed 2.0, or just Creed with a different lead singer. Switch out Myles Kennedy for Scott Stapp, and you’ve got a new band!
The New Band’s First Ventures
When Creed broke up, it was because of Scott Stapp’s wish to pursue a solo career – not because the bandmates didn’t enjoy making music together. They did! So much so that they formed Alter Bridge not even a year after the official announcement. In fact, their first album, One Day Remains, came out the same year Creed broke up. Talk about some fast workers! And not only was the album fast, but it was also successful. It debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 charts. Pretty impressive, don’t you think?
Creed…Again?
In 2009, Creed fans got the gift of a lifetime: a reunion tour. And since Alter Bridge is made up of mostly Creed members, the band had to go on break while Creed toured. But once the tour was over, they were right back in the studio, making their album AB III, then Fortress, then The Last Hero. They’re busy dudes! When they’re not busy making music in the studio, they’re touring around the world.
