About the UCLA Basketball
UCLA Basketball Tickets
The UCLA Bruins are one basketball program that will never go out of style. It will never be easy to find cheap UCLA basketball tickets because of the program’s profound history and tradition. The Bruins once formed the greatest dynasty that college basketball will ever see, and to this day, remain one of the premier college basketball powerhouses on the West Coast. As one of the most iconic programs in college basketball history, last-minute UCLA basketball tickets are always in high demand.
The Wizard of Westwood
From the very beginning in 1919, UCLA has had a winning basketball program. However, nothing compares to the success the Bruins experienced under head coach John Wooden, who took over in 1948. Of course, it wasn’t until the 1960s that Wooden turned UCLA into a dynasty. Between 1964 and 1975, Wooden guided UCLA to 10 national championships, including a run of seven in a row from 1967 to 1973. The Bruins went undefeated in four of those 10 championship seasons, creating a dynasty that will be virtually impossible to replicate in college basketball ever again.
The Successors
Needless to say, none of Wooden’s successors have come close to matching his success. However, most have kept UCLA among the top programs in college basketball. In 1995, Jim Harrick led the Bruins to a 32-1 campaign that ended with a national championship. Steve Lavin took UCLA to the Sweet 16 in five of his seven seasons. Ben Howland orchestrated three straight Final Four trips between 2006 and 2008. Even Steve Alford took the Bruins to the Sweet 16 in three of his six seasons in Westwood.
The Mick
UCLA began a new era in 2019, after hiring Mick Cronin following an ugly end to Alford’s tenure. At the time, Cronin was the most successful college basketball coach in the country under the age of 50. In his first season at UCLA, he led the Bruins to a second-place finish in the Pac-12 and won Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors, setting the stage for another great era of UCLA basketball.
