Baylor Basketball Tickets
Few college basketball programs have endured the same kind of ups and downs as the Baylor Bears. Off the court, the Bears have experienced great tragedies while also experiencing great struggles on the court. However, they have persevered and become a top-25 caliber program, making cheap Baylor basketball tickets difficult to find without knowing where to go for help. Fortunately, last-minute Baylor basketball tickets are available on Gametime, giving fans a chance to see what’s possible for a program that doesn’t give up in the face of adversity.
A Little Taste of Success
Baylor basketball had its first season in 1906 but rarely made any noise until Bill Henderson took over as head coach immediately after World War II. The Bears won four conference championships in a span of five years from 1946 to 1950. That included being national runner-up in 1948 and another Final Four appearance in 1950. However, the Bears would make just one more NCAA Tournament appearance the rest of the 20th century.
Great Scott!
In 2003, Baylor took a chance on head coach Scott Drew, who was just 33 years old and had one season of head-coaching experience at the time. As it turns out, hiring Drew is the best thing to ever happen to Baylor basketball. Despite winning fewer than 10 games in his first three seasons, Drew eventually got things turned around, taking the Bears to the Big Dance in 2008. Things got even better from there with Elite Right appearances in both 2010 and 2012. Even Baylor’s down seasons turned out to be successful with an NIT title in 2013. In other words, Scott has taken Baylor from the depths of college basketball to a program that is a threat to reach the NCAA Tournament every year.
