Purdue Football Tickets
In the long and proud history of the Big Ten Conference, the Purdue Boilermakers have unfairly been one of the most overlooked programs. Most college football fans probably think it’s easy to find cheap Purdue football tickets. But for most of the last 30 years, the Boilermakers have become a stable and steady program. During that time, the fanbase has grown to be one of the most loyal in the Big Ten, making last-minute Purdue football tickets a treat for any college football fan.
Quarterback U
A lot of college football programs would like to consider themselves as “Quarterback U,” and Purdue is one that has a strong claim to that title. The name first gained steam after Len Dawson and Bob Griese, both former Purdue stars, won Super Bowls. The likes of Gary Danielson, Mark Herrmann, Jim Everett, and Mike Phipps have continued the tradition, with Kyle Orton and Drew Brees being more recent examples of former Purdue quarterbacks who have made their mark in the NFL. To date, former Purdue quarterbacks have started more games in the NFL than any other college, giving the school the moniker of the “cradle of quarterbacks.”
The Future Ahead
If there was a golden era of modern Purdue football, it started in the 1990s under head coach Joe Tiller. After taking over in 1997, Tiller took the Boilermakers to eight straight bowl games and 10 postseason appearances in 11 years. That stretch included the program’s second Big Ten title and second Rose Bowl appearance. The Boilermakers also finished the season ranked in the top-25 five times during that span. Tiller’s predecessors struggled to maintain a similar level of success. However, the arrival of Jeff Brohm in 2017 breathed new life into the program, creating optimism that the Boilermakers have a bright future ahead of them.
