About Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle Tickets

Lauren Ashley Daigle is quite a staple in the contemporary Christian music scene. She has been since she released her first album in 2015, and there’s no sign she’s backing down soon.

As for many artists in this genre, Lauren feels (or at least sings like) she’s most connected to god when she’s making music. And in a way, she’s always been like that. Just ask her mom, who used to call her “music box,” since she was always singing. She didn’t spend her whole life knowing she’d pursue a religious musical connection, though. There was a time where she couldn’t sing at all.

Sickness and Solitude

Some people, even most, get a light strain of mononucleosis in their lives. It does a number on the body in terms of energy, and most people lose a lot of weight – but it lasts a few weeks to a month at best.

The strain that Lauren got in high school, however, wasn’t the ordinary kind. Whether it was a stronger strain or reacted differently in her body, we don’t know. But her infectious-ness and pain kept her out of school for two years. When she was finally ready to go back, she thought it was time to buckle down and study hard – so she could make up for lost time and make the world a better place through missionary work. She did precisely that and graduated high school early – but music was still in her plans.

Missionary and Music

After spending a year in Brazil doing missionary work, she enrolled at Louisiana State University. There she joined the choir, and her voice rang loud. After being asked to be a backup singer in a few recordings, she scored a spot singing a song with Jason Gray in 2013. That led his label to sign her the same year, and she put out her first album a year and a half later. Since then, she’s won countless awards in the Christian genre and remains a household name.
