Army Football Tickets
There might be no more respected or admired football program in the country than the Army Black Knights. Finding cheap West Point football tickets should be considered the deal of a lifetime because of what the players represent beyond the football field. That makes it even more impressive that West Point saw an uptick in on-field performance during the 2010s and is now a perennial bowl contender. Given the recent play of the Black Knights on the field, the program’s history, and everything the players do away from the field, all sports fans should be in the market for last-minute Army football tickets.
A Proud History
During the early days of college football, Army was usually one of the best teams in the country. Head coach Charles Dudley Daly led the Black Knights to undefeated seasons in both 1914 and 1916 with West Point claiming national championships in both seasons. Army had another golden era of football in the 1940s under head coach Earl Blaik. From 1944 to 1946, the Black Knights failed to lose a game and are credited with three more national championships. Blaik also led West Point to undefeated campaigns in 1948 and 1949, making the Black Knights arguably the best team of the decade.
21st Century Rebound
For many years during the second half of the 20th century, Army football struggled to gain traction on the field. The Cadets played in just three bowl games during the 1980s and one during the 90s. However, head coach Jeff Monken gave the program new life after taking over in 2014. Starting in 2016, Monken led West Point to three consecutive bowl games, a stretch that included a 10-3 record in 2017 and an 11-2 record in 2018. In fact, the Black Knights finished the 2018 season ranked in the top-25 for the first time since 1996, a sign that West Point football is back and willing to take on any challenge the college football world wants to throw at them.
