About Celine Dion

Celine Dion Tickets

We don’t need to tell you how famous Celine Dion is – it’s hard not to know! She’s the pride of Canada (when it comes to pop stars) and has given us the hits we all love to belt in the car or the shower. One of the reasons she’s so famous is that she’s been at this a long time.

The artist was born in 1968, in French-speaking Quebec, Canada. She wrote her first song at 12 years old and sent it to the manager or her musical idol. It only took Rene Angelil one listen of the tape she sent him to set up an appointment. Legend says he told her to “sing as though you were in front of a sold-out audience” and he never looked back. Rene believed in her so strongly that he financed his house to put out her first album and, hey – it paid off!

Her Storied Career

She first sang on television in 1981 and became the adopted-child star of Quebec. But she didn’t stay local for long. Just the next year she won the gold medal at a Tokyo song festival for her song, “Tellement j’ai d’amour pour toi”, which translates to “really, I love you.” That wasn’t the best part of her 14th year on Earth. She won a gold record in France and then 4 Felix awards (Canada’s Grammy’s). She went on her first tour at 16. We could go on and on about all her awards, but there are over 75 of them…

Las Vegas, Now What? After years of putting out albums (her last came out in 2016), Celine has decided to end her Las Vegas residency, as of June 2019. But don’t think she’s going to lie around and do nothing! She has two clothing lines, a spokesperson-ship for L’Oreal cosmetics, and her newest tour launching in the fall. If you missed Celine’s residency in Vegas and want to see her soon, browse Gametime and find tickets to see the songstress of Canada, and of our hearts!
