Cage the Elephant Tickets
If you ever doubt that the music of the 90s is still alive and well, all you have to do is listen to Cage the Elephant. The group has always been heavily influenced by the punk and alternative music of the 90s, among many other genres that have helped to create its unique sound. More importantly, Cage the Elephant has quietly become one of the best rock bands of the 21st century, showing an impressive amount of longevity and commercial appeal that still makes them an amazing band to see live.
No Rest for the Wicked
Of all places, Cage the Elephant got its start in Bowling Green, Kentucky, which isn’t a traditional hotbed for rock bands. Nevertheless, the group got a record deal and moved to London. Soon after, Cage the Elephant released its first album and struck a chord with the song “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked.” The song has become a classic rock anthem with both a cult following and inclusion in several TV shows. The song cemented a place for Cage the Elephant in music history, ensuring the band is never forgotten.
Reap the Rewards
Needless to say, nothing was the same for Cage the Elephant after “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked.” It helped the band land gigs at Lollapalooza and several other music festivals in the years to come, helping to grow their following. But it wouldn’t be their last hit song. In fact, Cage the Elephant’s next single: “Back Against the Wall,” turned into the group’s first no. 1 single. Subsequent albums Thank You, Happy Birthday and Melophobia received great reviews from critics and helped grow the band’s fanbase further. After all, fans loved the way they effortlessly mix various genres together.
The Best is Yet to Come
To the surprise of many, Cage the Elephant proved to have more staying power than most of the bands that influenced them. The band’s 2015 album Tell Me I’m Pretty produced hits like “Mess Around” and “Trouble” while earning Cage the Elephant their first-ever Grammy for Best Rock Album. Their follow-up album Social Clues also won the Grammy for Best Rock Album. After five albums and more than a decade in the spotlight, Cage the Elephant is a rock band that can almost do no wrong and is one of today’s best rock bands to see in concert.
