Long before the movie Pitch Perfect reminded everyone of the beauty of A Cappella music, the band Home Free was doing its thing, bringing its unique brand of country-inspired A Cappella to any audience that wants to listen to it. While they started to get national attention when they won the fourth season of the reality competition show The Sing-Off, the group has been together for over 20 years and recorded a dozen albums. When they aren’t recording new albums or putting together original A Cappella arrangements, Home Free has been touring the country and performing on cruise ships non-stop since the release of their first album in 2007, perfecting their live show and entertaining countless fans.

The Big Time

Even though just about anyone with a decent voice and a dream can form an A Capella group, Home Free is not just a bunch of silly guys chasing a dream. After winning The Sing-Off in 2013 by singing the Hunter Hayes song “I Want Crazy,” they were signed to a major recording label. Since then, Home Free has released a new album virtually every year, selling hundreds of thousands of records in the process. In 2014, Home Free found success with the release of their single “Angels We Have Heard on High,” which reached as high as no. 30 on the US country music charts.

A Band of Musical Geniuses

It’s no accident that Home Free has found success and practically perfect the art of A Cappella music. While there have been plenty of lineup changes over the years, there is no shortage of musical talent within the band. Multiple members of Home Free have degrees in music theory and experience with playing instruments, as well as writing and arranging of music. Meanwhile, every member of the band has an angelic voice, with founding member Adam Rupp also providing the beatbox skills that every A cappella group needs. Once they decided to focus on singing country songs right before going on The Sing-Off, Home Free tapped into a huge market of fans that seems to grow with every show they play.
