To Kill a Mockingbird Tickets

Growing up, there were few things you could escape experiencing. One was almost certainly without a doubt having to read To Kill a Mockingbird, the influential novel by Harper Lee that, for many of us, was our first real exposure to historical instances of racism and prejudice. It’s just as valid today as it was when it was written, which is why it’s no surprise that one of the most popular modern Broadway plays of all time would be a new stage adaptation!

An Iconic Story

The story of Atticus Finch, a southern lawyer representing a Black man falsely accused of rape, as told through the eyes of his young daughter Scout, is as iconic as its famous black-and-white movie adaptation starring Gregory Peck. This new adaptation takes Harper Lee’s original novel and the movie we all know so well and gives it a few new twists, thanks to famous playwright Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation. Moving the focus from Scout to Atticus, this new version of To Kill a Mockingbird allows for more character growth for Atticus and offers a deeper, more nuanced approach to the original story without sacrificing its impact.

Amazing Talent

Aaron Sorkin only works with the best of the best, and it’s no surprise that he hand-picked his Atticus for the production. When it opened its doors in 2018, longtime collaborator Jeff Daniels took on the role, earning serious acclaim for his take on Atticus Finch. After a wildly successful run, Daniels bowed out. The mantle was then taken up by first Ed Harris and then Greg Kinnear. Meanwhile, the West End production in London is set to star Rhys Ifans as Atticus, and the US national tour will have Richard Thomas – John Boy from the Waltons!

Did You Say National Tour?

That’s right. Now you don’t have to worry about not being able to get Broadway tickets. To Kill a Mockingbird is set to kick off a massive national tour any day now!
