BottleRock

When most people think of Napa Valley, they think of wine and vineyards and not much else. But this part of Northern California is also home to BottleRock, which is one of the most underrated music festivals in the country. BottleRock got its start in 2013 as a five-day festival and has since been shortened to a three-day festival. Nevertheless, it stands true to its name by bringing together rock music, among artists of other genres, with countless bottles of wine from dozens of local wineries. The first Bottle Rock was an interesting experiment but also an instant hit that brought together over 120,000 music and wine lovers. It has since become a yearly tradition in Napa Valley with both music lovers and wine lovers flocking to buy last-minute Bottle Rock tickets.

Where Does BottleRock Take Place?

BottleRock takes place at the Napa Valley Exposition Grounds or Napa Valley Expo. It’s located in the heart of downtown Napa, California, just east of the Napa River. During the year, it hosts several other fairs, trade shows, concerts, and other events, including weddings. There is adequate space for multiple stages and countless booths and tents. Napa Valley Expo also has an RV Park, making it the perfect location for a multi-day festival like Bottle Rock.

Diverse Acts

The first edition of BottleRock in 2013 featured roughly 60 bands playing on three stages. That means there’s never a dull moment and always a great performer at the microphone. While the festival’s name implies a lot of rock music, BottleRock set the tone early that it was going to offer a diverse range of musical acts. The 2013 festival included the likes of Train, The Zac Brown Band, Jane’s Addiction, Kings of Leon, Ben Harper, and more. The musical stylings of the festival only grew more diverse in subsequent years, including acts like OutKast, LL Cool J, Heart, No Doubt, The Roots, Snoop Dogg, Neil Young, Pharrell Williams, and countless others. BottleRock offers arguably the biggest variety of musical acts of any modern-day festival.

Back from Hiatus

Unfortunately, the 2020 edition of BottleRock had to be canceled because of COVID-19. However, one crazy year isn’t going to mean the end of the festival. Organizers rescheduled the 2020 lineup that includes Dave Matthews Band, Miley Cyrus, Brandie Carlile, Blondie, Janelle Monae, and more for May 2021. After the hiatus, BottleRock will pick up where it left off and continue to provide the perfect mix of music and wine long into the future.
