About AC/DC
You can’t call yourself a rock and roll fan if you’re not an AC/DC person. We’re sorry – those are the rules. We didn’t make them up! The bands almost forty years of putting out music (though admittedly, with some too-long breaks) has put them right up with the other legends in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Literally – they got inducted in 2003, and their induction ceremony performance is on YouTube.
Since you’re still here, that tells us you’re a true AC/DC fan, which means you’re among friends. We can’t help but headbang along to the power chords that make up every AC/DC song, even the ones that didn’t chart as hit singles. And while you probably know their discography as well as we do, you may not know the interesting facts about the making of the band, below.
AC/DC Comes to Light
AC/DC is an Australian band, though they’ve had a global influence. The band was founded by Malcolm Young, in 1973, near Syndey. He asked his little brother to come on board as Guitarist and their eldest brother, George, to produce. For the first little while, it was truly a family matter. The band didn’t find success in Australia right away, and they didn’t keep that original lineup for long. A few years after they formed, Phill Rudd, Bon Scott, and Mark Evan joined the cause.
The First Two (!) Albums
Every band releases a debut album or EP, but AC/DC put out two – you can’t get more ambitious than that. With double the hits and setlist, those releases allowed the band to tour in the US and UK, with impressive results. They’ve had a good forty years of success since then, but it hasn’t been without its bumps. Malcolm Young, who started the band way back when died in 2017. The band has decided to keep his work and spirit alive by touring with their remaining members – but this reunion tour won’t last forever.
