Eastern Washington Football Tickets
The Eastern Washington Eagles are undoubtedly one of the most overlooked college football programs on the West Coast. As an FCS program, the assumption is that it’s easy to get cheap Eastern Washington football tickets. However, the Eagles are not your average FCS program. They are a championship-caliber team at the FCS level that has proven they can beat FBS teams, including a ranked Oregon State team in 2013. When you take a closer look at the Eagles, you’ll understand why there’s such a high demand for last-minute Eastern Washington football tickets.
The Early Days
EWU's football history dates back to 1901 when it was known as the State Normal School. The program had a nice run in the 1930s under W.B. Reese and another strong era in the late 1940s and early 50s under A.H. Poffenroth. Dave Holmes also took the program to new heights in the 1960s, culminating in a trip to the NAIA Championship Game in 1967.
The Leap
The Eagles officially made the leap to the FCS level in 1984, ultimately joining the Big Sky Conference in 1987. It only took until 1992 for the Eagles to make their way to the top of the Big Sky and win their first conference championship. Eastern Washington won the Big Sky title again in 1997 before advancing all the way to the FCS semi-finals.
The Powerhouse
When Beau Baldwin took over at EWU in 2008, he soon took the Eagles to the next level. In 2010, Baldwin’s third season at the helm, the Eagles won the FCS national championship, cementing themselves as one of the elite FCS programs in the country. Over the next six seasons under Baldwin, EWU won four more conference titles and advanced to the FCS semifinals three times. Aaron Best took the reins and brought the Eagles back to the FCS title game in 2018, a clear sign that Eastern Washington football is here to stay.
