Louisiana-Monroe Football Tickets
The LSU Tigers get so much attention during the college football season that it’s sometimes easy to forget that they’re not the only team in the state of Louisiana. For instance, the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks also deserve some attention. Granted, cheap Louisiana-Monroe football tickets are a little easier to find than some other programs in the south. But the Warhawks have worked their way up the hierarchy and are now a legitimate FBS program. They’ve also amassed a loyal following, making last-minute Louisiana-Monroe tickets a hot commodity in the northern part of the state.
The Long Journey
The Warhawks have had a long journey to get to where they are today. The program began playing in 1931 at the junior college level. After time at the NAIA level and the Division II level, the Warhawks also spent time as an FCS program and an independent program at the Division I level. In 2001, ULM became a member of the Sun Belt, putting the football program on a path to being something special.
Flying High
While sustained success hasn’t come to Louisiana-Monroe, the Warhawks have had plenty of moments in the sun. In 2007, ULM defeated mighty Alabama 21-14 despite being 25-point underdogs. In 2012, head coach Todd Berry led an improbable season that included an upset win over no. 8 Arkansas and close losses to Auburn and Baylor. The Warhawks ended up finishing the season second in the Sun Belt and went to a bowl game for the first time in program history. The 2012 campaign is remembered as a magical season and proof that Louisiana-Monroe football is capable of great accomplishments in the years to come.
