Idaho Football Tickets
The Idaho Vandals constantly make the state proud on the gridiron and have done so for many years. Even if cheap Idaho football tickets have been the norm for many years, the Vandals have a history that dates back to 1893. The program has also found plenty of success over the last half-century, becoming one of the flagship programs in the Big Sky Conference. With some recent success and several prominent rivalries, most fans would be surprised to learn about the high demand for last-minute Idaho football tickets.
Great in the 80s
Outside of a few Big Sky championships in the 1960s and early 70s, most of Idaho’s football history is rather forgettable until the 1980s. Starting in 1982, three different head coaches: Dennis Erickson, Keith Gilbertson, and John L. Smith, guided the Vandals to six Big Sky Conference titles in 11 seasons. During that same era, Idaho made 11 trips to the FCS Playoffs between 1982 and 1995. In both 1988 and 1993, the Vandals reached the national semifinals, which remain the most successful seasons in program history.
Happy to Be Home
Not too long ago, the Vandals took their shot at the big stage. The program’s years of success at the FCS level led the Vandals to move to the Big West Conference and the FBS level in 1996. Of course, the move up in competition was difficult for Idaho. Yet, despite many losing seasons, the Vandals managed to qualify for bowl games in 1998, 2009, and 2016, winning all three games. Alas, the Vandals moved back to the FCS level and back to the Big Sky Conference in 2018. The move was a homecoming of sorts for the Vandals, who are back in a conference with some of their top rivals. More importantly, they are back at a level of competition where Idaho football will have a chance to thrive in the years to come.
