Chattanooga Football Tickets
The Chattanooga Mocs have had quite the football odyssey over the past 100 years or so. It’s been filled with highs and lows, as well as many players who went onto the NFL after Chattanooga. In the end, it’s been worth it because the Mocs are one of the best FCS programs in the country, and last-minute Chattanooga football tickets are in high demand. In fact, finding cheap Chattanooga football tickets can be difficult, although the Mocs are well worth the price of admission.
The Sweet 70s
In 1977, Chattanooga made the move from the Division II level to the FCS level and was an instant success. Under head coach Joe Morrison, the Mocs won at least a share of the Southern Conference championship in each of their first three seasons in the league. In fact, the Mocs rattled off nine straight winning seasons after making the jump to the FCS level. That stretch included another Southern Conference title and the program’s first appearance in the FCS Playoffs in 1984.
Alive Again
Unfortunately for Chattanooga, the football program fell off the map in the late 80s and struggled to gain traction for a while. However, head coach Russ Huesman brought the Mocs back to life. Huesman played for the Mocs and was a member of the teams that won the Southern Conference in 1978 and 1979, making him the perfect person to revitalize Chattanooga football. After taking over the program in 2009, Huesman guided the Mocs to a Southern Conference title in 2013, the team’s first championship in nearly 30 years. The following year, he brought Chattanooga back to the FCS Playoffs. While Huesman has since left his alma mater, he successfully rebuilt Chattanooga into one of the best programs in the Southern Conference, setting the Mocs up for continued success in the years to come.
