Nevada Football Tickets
The state of Nevada is typically known more for folks betting on football than people going to see football games. But the Nevada Wolf Pack has become a team worth checking out for fans in the state. For now, cheap Nevada football tickets are usually in abundance, but that may not be the case much longer. With over a century of history, the Wolf Pack has slowly worked its way up the college football hierarchy. Nevada is now a competitive team at the FBS level and a frequent bowl participant, helping to put last-minute Nevada football tickets more in demand than ever before.
In the Western Sky
Nevada football spent most of its history as either an independent program or at the lower levels of the college football hierarchy. But a move to what is now the FCS level in 1978 opened new doors for the Wolf Pack. The program found great success starting in the 1980s, winning four Big Sky championships between 1983 and 1991 before moving to the Big West. In the Big West, the Wolf Pack won five conference championships from 1992 to 1997, including a stretch of four in a row. That opened the door for Nevada to take the next step forward to the FBS level, joining the WAC in 2000 and ultimately joining the Mountain West Conference in 2012.
Setting the Foundation
Chris Ault is the coach most responsible for Nevada’s climb up the ladder across three stints as the Wolf Pack’s head coach. He took them from the Division II level in 1976 to the FCS national championship game in 1990. After leaving following the 1995 season, he returned in 2004 and oversaw Nevada’s entrance to the Mountain West in 2012. While the Wolf Pack has had several coaches who followed Ault, the foundation he set has made Nevada a perennial bowl team since joining the Mountain West, making the Wolf Pack one of the most consistent programs in the country outside of the power conferences.
