Everybody knows the state of Alabama loves college football, and that extends to the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at the FCS level. Just because the Bulldogs compete at the FCS level, doesn’t mean it’s easy to find cheap Alabama A&M football tickets. The program has over a century of history, most recently in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs are no stranger to bitter rivalries or competing for championships, which keeps last-minute Alabama A&M tickets in high demand.

All About Rivals

Fueling the interest in Alabama A&M football is a long list of rivals, mostly within the SWAC. A&M’s top rivalry game is the Magic City Classic against Alabama State that’s played the last Saturday of October every year at Legion Field in Birmingham. The rivalry reached a fever pitch after the Bulldogs joined the SWAC in 1999, and grows more heated every year given that the win total on both sides of the rivalry is nearly even. Outside of the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn, the Magic City Classic is the biggest football game in Alabama every year.

If You Can Make it in the SWAC

Competing in the SWAC is by no means easy for any program. The rivalries within the league run deep, and every team plays every game with immense pride. However, the Bulldogs have found a way to hold their own in the league since joining in 1999. Under head coach Anthony Jones, Alabama A&M reached the SWAC title game five times between 2002 and 2011, winning the championship in 2006 in perhaps the best moment in program history. While the competition in the SWAC is fierce year after year, the Bulldogs remain competitive and a threat to take home the conference championship in any given year.
