Northwestern State Football Tickets
In all corners of Louisiana, there is a passion for college football. That even includes smaller programs like the Northwestern State Demons. Compared to some of the top programs in the Southeast, cheap Northwestern State football tickets are a little more common. But the passion and support for the program are second to none. The Demons have been around for more than a century, winning more than 60% of their games in program history while also sending countless players to the NFL. In fact, it’s not a stretch to call the Demons one of the most overlooked teams at the FCS level, as evidenced by the demand for last-minute Northwestern State football tickets every fall.
The Godfather
There’s no question the most important person in the history of Northwestern State football is Harry Turpin, who coached the Demons from 1934 to 1956. In 1939, he led Northwestern State, which was called Louisiana Normal at the time, to a perfect 11-0 season, conceding just 18 total points all season. Turpin would lead the Demons to another conference title in 1953 while laying the foundation for Jack Clayton, who led the program to four more conference titles between 1957 and 1966.
Fight For Your Bragging Rights
Part of what makes Northwestern State football so special is that almost every game has the feel of a Super Bowl for the players and fans. That’s because the Demons have an almost endless supply of rivals, mostly in the form of in-state foes. The likes of Southeastern Louisiana, Nicholls State, Louisiana-Monroe, and McNeese State are all among Northwestern State’s rivals. They also play for a trophy every time they meet Stephen F. Austin. With so many rivals, every Northwestern State football game is an important event and a game the Demons feel they must win, which is the sign of a program that’s serious about college football.
