Central Washington Wildcats Football Tickets
Tucked in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, college football fans will find the Central Washington Wildcats, one of the top Division II programs in the country. As a Division II program, it’s easy to find cheap CWU football tickets. Of course, that makes the Wildcats one of the best values in college football. The program has a storied history that includes over two dozen conference championships and a national title in 1995. For college football fans in the Apple State, last-minute Central Washington football tickets are always in high demand.
A Proud History
Despite jumping from conference to conference more than most programs, CWU football has experienced success throughout most of its history. Over the years, the Wildcats have won over 30 conference championships, mostly at the NAIA level before making the jump to Division II. Central Washington’s proudest moment came in 1995 when the Wildcats won a share of the NAIA national championship after tying Findlay in the national championship game. During its storied history, CWU has also produced a handful of NFL draft picks, which is a rarity for lower-level programs. By far, the program’s best player is Jon Kitna, who led the Wildcats to their 1995 championship before a long NFL career.
A Lost Rivalry
During its history, CWU’s biggest rival has been in-state foe Western Washington. Behind the Apple Cup between Washington and Washington State, the game between Central Washington and Western Washington was the second most important game in the state of Washington every year. Unfortunately, Western Washington dropped football after the 2008 season. However, the Cascade Cup remains a fond memory for Central Washington, especially since the Wildcats won 62 of the 101 all-time matchups against their bitter rivals.
