Alabama A&M Basketball Tickets
In college basketball, there always seems to be room for more teams trying to make a name for themselves on the big stage. One of those teams trying to make its mark is the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. Granted, it’s a small program in the SWAC, making cheap Alabama A&M basketball tickets easy for fans to find. But the Bulldogs also have a long history of success at the Division II level. That has helped to create a constant sense of excitement around the program, leading to hope for a bright future and a high demand for last-minute Alabama A&M basketball tickets.
Bulldog Building Blocks
Throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, Alabama A&M had one of the most consistent programs at the Division II level. Between 1975 and 1996, the Bulldogs won a combined 19 regular-season or tournament titles in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. That led to the Bulldogs making ten appearances in the Division II NCAA Tournament between 1985 and 1997. In those ten appearances, the Bulldogs won nine games, making four appearances in the Elite Eight, including three in a row from 1994 to 1996. That helped to set the foundation for Alabama A&M to eventually move to the Division I level in the years to come.
Always a Dog Fight
Alabama A&M became a full-time member of the SWAC in 1999, solidifying its standing as a Division I program. The Bulldogs had a bit of beginner’s luck, winning the SWAC regular-season and conference tournament titles in 2005, earning Alabama A&M a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time at the Division I level. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs lost their play-in game to Oakland in 2005 and fell on some hard times after that, struggling to get out of the SWAC basement most years. However, the program’s history of success at the Division II level and its magic 2005 season give Alabama A&M reasons to believe that better days are ahead.
