Boise State Basketball Tickets
For a long time, Boise State has been one of the top mid-major college football programs. But now the Broncos are making strides to do the same on the basketball court. It’s no longer easy to find cheap Boise State basketball tickets. The Broncos are quickly becoming a formidable contender in the Mountain West Conference on the basketball court, leading to high demand for last-minute Boise State basketball tickets.
Dye in the Sky
The first period of sustained success Boise State basketball experienced came in the 1980s under head coach Bobby Dye. The Broncos were members of the Big Sky Conference and became one of the league’s best teams after Dye had a few years to rebuild. In 1988, Dye led the Broncos to their first conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in over a decade. Dye guided Boise State to another Big Sky title the following year and would later take the Broncos back to the NCAA Tournament in 1993 and 1994. However, after the 1994 trip to the Big Dance, it would be a decade until Boise State’s next postseason appearance.
Rice in the Mountains
The Broncos saw a resurgence in their basketball program during the 2010s when Leon Rice took over as head coach. Rice led Boise State to the CBI semifinals in his first season and then helped the program make the switch to the Mountain West Conference the following year. During Boise’s second season in the Mountain West, the Broncos returned to the NCAA Tournament for the second time since 1994. More importantly, that season kicked off a run of six straight seasons of 20 or more wins. It was an unprecedented run of success for Boise State basketball that included a Mountain West regular-season championship in 2015. It was also a sign that Boise State is a basketball program on the rise.
