About the Cincinnati Basketball

Cincinnati Basketball Tickets

Every true college basketball fan knows that the Cincinnati Bearcats are one of the top programs in the game’s history. Finding cheap Cincinnati basketball tickets has been next to impossible for decades. For nearly a century, the Bearcats have been a force to be reckoned with on the hardwood. They also have a passionate fanbase, which creates a huge demand for last-minute Cincinnati basketball tickets whenever the Bearcats play at home.

UC Dynasty

Cincinnati was no stranger to success during the first half of the 20th century. However, the Bearcats created a dynasty in the late 1950s when the legendary Oscar Robertson stepped on campus. Behind Robertson, the Bearcats went to the Sweet 16 in 1958 and the Final Four in 1959 and 1960. Even with Robertson gone and new head coach Ed Jucker taking over, Cincinnati then won back-to-back national championships in 1961 and 1962, going 56-5 over those two seasons. They also came one game short of a three-peat, losing the 1963 national title game by two points.

Huggy Bear and Beyond

The Bearcats fell on some hard times during the 1970s and 80s, but Bob Huggins turned things around in the 90s. Between 1989 and 2005, Huggins won 10 conference titles and led the Bearcats to the Final Four in 1992. He helped set up his predecessors for continued success at Cincinnati. Mick Cronin made the Bearcats competitive during their brief stint in the mighty Big East, leading to Cincinnati becoming the premier program in the American Athletic Conference. The Bearcats made the NCAA Tournament in each of Cronin’s final nine seasons at the helm before handing the job to John Brannen, who is poised to keep Cincinnati in the national spotlight, especially after winning both the AAC regular-season and tournament titles in his first season.
