Oregon Basketball Tickets
If you put together a list of the best West Coast basketball programs in NCAA history, you probably won’t find the Oregon Ducks. For decades, the Ducks were an afterthought, even in their own conference, and cheap Oregon basketball tickets were plentiful. However, that’s not the case anymore. The program has come alive in the 21st century and is now a regular in the NCAA Tournament. Nowadays, getting last-minute Oregon basketball tickets is a treat for fans because the Ducks got game - and they know how to put on a good show.
The One and Only
While the Ducks don’t have much history on the basketball court, they had a brief run during the 1930s and 40s under head coach Howard Hobson. Under Hobson, Oregon put together four consecutive seasons with at least 20 wins, culminating in a 29-5 record during the 1938-39 season in which the Ducks won the national championship. However, for the rest of the century, any success for the Ducks on the basketball court would be sporadic.
Flying Home
After decades of subpar play, Ernie Kent was the coach who started to turn Oregon basketball around. Between 2000 and 2008, Kent took the Ducks to the NCAA Tournament five times. That stretch included a Pac-12 title, and Elite Eight run in 2002. Kent’s tenure eventually ended with three straight poor seasons. But Dana Altman took the reins in 2010 and officially put Oregon basketball on the map. Under Altman, the Ducks reached the Elite Eight in 2016 and got back to the Final Four in 2017 for the second time in school history. Oregon also won three Pac-12 regular-season titles in a five-year span beginning in 2016, establishing itself as one of the top programs on the West Coast.
