La Salle Basketball Tickets
The city of Philadelphia is filled with great college basketball programs, and the La Salle Explorers are one of the best. Since the university is located in one of the best sports cities, it’s not always easy finding cheap La Salle basketball tickets. The Explorers also have a rich tradition that’s filled with great rivalries, postseason success, and talented players. Right now, the Explorers play in the Atlantic-10, making them part of one of the best mid-major conferences in the country. Between their conference foes and their intra-city rivalries, it’s easy to see why last-minute La Salle basketball tickets are always in high demand.
Top of the World
La Salle basketball was at the top of the college basketball world back in the 1950s. Under head coach Ken Loeffler, the Explorers won the NIT in 1952 and the national championship in 1954 while then coming one game short of another national championship in 1955. Those were indeed the glory days for La Salle but by no means the end of the program’s success. The Explorers found renewed success in the 1970s, 80s, and early 90s, making regular appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
Still Exploring
While they’ve never been able to match their success of the 1950s, the Explorers have continued to move up the college basketball ladder. The success of the program in the late 80s and early 90s helped earn La Salle an invitation to the Atlantic 10 Conference, meaning a step up in competition level. In 2013, the Explorers had a breakout season, reaching the Sweet 16 despite being one of the last at-large teams selected for the NCAA Tournament. That run was a taste of the good ole days for La Salle basketball, sending a message to the rest of college basketball that the Explorers are still a respectable and noteworthy program.
