About Tool

Tool Tickets

Tool isn’t your run of the mill metal band. Sure, they have the heavy instrumentation and dark lyrics you expect from the genre, but they don’t put it all together the way other groups do. They’re kind of like System of a Down in that aspect – you never know what kind of musical patterns to expect when they put out a new song. They’re also known for their music videos, as a band of the 90s. While they weren’t featured on MTV or VH1 often (not the right niche), they still capitalized on the music video obsession with their unique style.

Putting Tool Together

Maynard James is the mastermind behind Tool, or, at least, he was the one that got the group together back in 1991. He found Adam Jones to play guitar, Paul D’Amour for bass, and Danny Carey to play drums. With everyone in place, they got to work on their first offering, an EP named Opiate. It was a release full of self-hatred, which is one reason so many 90s teens found a new favorite in the band. One of the things people love about metal is that the song lyrics don’t shy away from difficult topics. Tools’ songs are no exception. Their song “Prison Sex,” which is one of their most well known, is proof.

Undertow and Beyond

Their first major record, Undertow, made it to platinum status. That was pretty impressive, as they’d been playing together for less than 2 years. Their next record, Aenima, surpassed the success of Undertow and is now their most-popular record of all time. Aenima came out in 1996, while their next record wasn’t released until 2001. The band takes their time making music for their fans, as they didn’t put out their fourth album until 2006. Tool is picky about which shows they perform, so seeing them is a big deal.

FAQs

How much are Tool tickets?

That’s a loaded question! Tool ticket prices will differ depending on the source and the seats. The best price for Tool tickets is usually $82 a ticket, and that’s for nosebleed seats! If you want floor seats, or if you’re shopping for tickets at a popular venue, you could easily be looking at a few hundred dollars more.

How to buy Tool tickets?

With demand at a peak, Tool ticket prices are going to be pretty high if purchased directly from the box office. That means the best way to buy cheap Tool tickets is online through a ticket marketplace. Ticket marketplaces like Gametime are perfect because they put you in contact with resellers looking to move seats at a relative bargain. It’s the safest and most affordable way to get the best price for Tool tickets.

Will Tool tour in 2020?

Yep! But they aren’t touring long! Tool will be hitting a number of cities around the US up until February 2020. So don’t miss your chance to see them live.

What’s the Tool 2020 tour setlist?

You never know what’s going to happen at a Tool concert, but here’s the average tour setlist:

  • Ænema
  • The Pot
  • Parabola
  • Descending
  • Schism
  • Invincible
  • Jambi
  • Intolerance
  • Forty Six & 2
  • Chocolate Chip Trip
  • Vicarious
  • Stinkfist.

How long is a Tool concert?

With such an epic setlist, you can expect Tool’s performance to last for around 90 minutes. When you take opening acts into account, you’re looking at two to three hours of entertainment.

How much are Tool floor seats?

The best way to see Tool live is up close and personal from the floor, but these seats are always super expensive. The cheap end of floor seats can easily be $116 to $251, and if you’re seeing Tool at a venue with stage pit seats it could be even more pricey.

Of course, there are ways around this. There’s a great strategy for cutting Tool ticket prices on floor seats, and the best part is that it requires you to do literally nothing but wait. Waiting until the last minute can get you some great discounts because resellers with unsold seats don’t make any money. Wait it out and watch those prices drop to something more affordable, and then enjoy your floor seats!
