Bethune-Cookman Football Tickets
The state of Florida is known for having great college football programs, and Bethune-Cookman is one that shouldn’t be overlooked. Compared to the other powerhouses in the Sunshine State, it’s relatively easy to find cheap Bethune-Cookman football tickets. The Wildcats have long been one of the top teams in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and a proud FCS program that isn’t afraid to punch above its weight. With a history of producing NFL-quality players and competing for championships, there’s always a high demand for last-minute Bethune-Cookman football tickets.
Mr. Little
The most important figure in Bethune-Cookman’s football history is Larry Little. He played for the Wildcats from 1964 to 1967, and despite going undrafted, became a five-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl champion, and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Perhaps more importantly, he returned to his alma mater in 1983 as the head coach. While he had a losing record during his nine seasons, Little guided the Wildcats to conference championships in both 1984 and 1988, the first two conference championships in program history.
The Big Stage
Early in the 21st century, Bethune-Cookman started to move from being a good MEAC program to a top-flight FCS program. Alvin Wyatt, another former Wildcat turned head coach, led BCU to the FCS playoffs for the first time in both 2002 and 2003. Under Brian Jenkins, the Wildcats won four MEAC championships in five years from 2010 to 2014. His tenure also included three more appearances in the FCS playoffs and two Black College National Championships in 2010 and 2013. Jenkins raised the profile of Bethune-Cookman football substantially, putting his successor Terry Sims in a position to continue to make the Wildcats an FCS team that fans should know about.
