Tulane Basketball Tickets
Even though New Orleans has already an NBA team, it doesn’t mean that basketball fans in that city have forgotten about the Tulane Green Wave. Obviously, cheap Tulane basketball tickets are easy to find, especially compared to the New Orleans Pelicans. But that just means the entertainment value is that much higher. After all, since the Green Wave joined the American Athletic Conference, Tulane plays in one of the better mid-major conferences in the country. That means the Green Wave plays host to some of the best teams in the country, which has caused a spike in demand for last-minute Tulane basketball tickets.
The Green Wave Rises
Unfortunately, the Tulane basketball program was rocked by a scandal during the 1980s after players were accused of point shaving. However, head coach Perry Clark took over the program in 1989, rebuilding the program and then some. With Clark at the wheel, the Green Wave reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 1992, knocking off St. John’s in the program’s first-ever tournament game. Clark led Tulane back to the Big Dance in both 1993 and 1995. In all three trips to the NCAA Tournament during that four-year span, the Green Wave won a game in the Big Dance in what is undoubtedly the best era in program history.
The Next Level
In 2014, Tulane moved up in the basketball world when they were invited to join the American Athletic Conference alongside many other name-brand college basketball programs. Naturally, the Green Wave struggled during the first few years after the move to the AAC. But Tulane has started to find some traction in recent years and has become a competitive part of the AAC and a mid-major to watch in the years to come.
