The West Coast doesn’t own all music festivals. While, yes, most of the giant ones are out there, the East coast still has Bonnaroo and Boston Calling! And no one can take those away from us. Never heard of the Boston Calling Music Festival? Well, if you live on the East Coast, you’re about to find out about your new favorite annual event. Not only is Boston easy to travel in and out of, but it’s a great city to explore as well. And the lineups? They don’t get better than this. If you’re a rock fan, or even an alt-rock or metal fan, you need tickets, stat!

About Boston Calling Festival

While you probably don’t think about wide-open spaces inside Boston, there are spots for large gatherings. This festival is held at the Harvard Athletic Complex, which is East of the city center. Don’t worry – there is plenty of public transportation (and ride apps) to get you there if you’re staying downtown. The festival lasts three days, with a headbanging-ly awesome set each night. Want to take the kids? Children under 10 are free, and the last act ends at 10:45, so you don’t even have to keep them up that late!

Past Headliners

Anyone who’s anyone has played at Boston Calling. The legendary band Tool headlined a few years ago. Into more modern music? Twenty-One Pilots played their hit song “Stressed Out” on the stage last year. Want something that edges a little away from rock and towards rap? Travis Scott and Tame Impala have also graced the Boston stage. Need even more proof it’s worth your money? The main stages have held acts like Jack Johnson, Lorde, My Morning Jacket, Lizzo, Ben Harper, The Avett Brothers, Of Monsters and Men, and more!
