Yellowcard Tickets
It’s easy for rock bands to get lost in the shuffle or fail to distinguish themselves from other groups. But Yellowcard has never had that problem. Their pop-punk sound has long connected with audiences, as they rose to fame in the late 90s and remain relevant more than 20 years later. Despite their roots being in hardcore punk music, Yellowcard has always had a violin as part of the band’s lineup, giving the group an element that most bands would never dream of including. Yellowcard has also evolved throughout the group’s ten albums, moving from hardcore punk to a more commercially viable pop-punk sound. That change helped to make Yellowcard popular without losing its edge, which is why after all of these years, the band remains a great act to see live.
Perfect for Pop Culture
Even popular rock bands haven’t been able to put their stamp on pop culture the way that Yellowcard has been able to. The song “Ocean Avenue” endeared Yellowcard to a mass audience. But several other of the band’s songs have been used on TV shows and video games. Yellowcard also gained great credibility for covering the song “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” while the movie The Breakfast Club was honored at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. It was a seminal moment for the band, proving that they were more than just a trendy pop-punk band. Even after a brief hiatus, the hits kept coming for Yellowcard, with the band continuing to tour with several acts joining them along the way. At the same time, Yellowcard’s songs kept popping up in movies and commercials, forever keeping them in the spotlight.
Reunion Time
In 2017, 20 years after the band first formed, Yellowcard announced that the band was splitting up after one final tour. However, five years later, the group came out of retirement to play at the Riot Fest in 2022. The announcement created hope among the band’s fans that Yellowcard isn’t finished just yet. Of course, it’s also a good reminder that every chance to see a band like Yellowcard perform live is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.
