About Alvvays

Alvvays Tickets

Have you ever gone onto a social platform with the perfect name in mind, just to find out someone already took it? Your choice is then to find another way to spell it or have to settle on adding random numbers at the end of your screen name.

Well, that’s what Alvvays went through when they decided to name their band. They wanted to name it Always (as it’s pronounced), but someone beat them to it. Molly, the lead singer, and band creatress said that visually the two v’s are close enough to a w that she saw no issue with it. So if you were wondering, there you go!

Creating Alvvays

Wondering how your favorite misspelled-band came to be? It all started with Molly Rankin, of the famous Rankin family. She took her lifetime experience of performing with her family and used it to create her own band.

That band started with just her and Kerri MacLellan, who was her childhood neighbor. Eventually, they added Alec O’Janely and Brian Murphy to the mix. Finally, they finished out their 5-person ensemble by adding Phil MacIssac on drums, in 2010. After touring with famous funk-pop bands (like Peter Bjorn and John), they put out their debut album in 2014.

Adult Diversion Demo to Debut Album

Their demo album, Adult Diversion, came out in 2014. It gained a lot of popularity on the internet and got them signed to Polyvinyl records the same year. They put out their self-titled debut album later that year, and their success skyrocketed. They went from being an unrepresented band to playing Coachella in just two years – an impressive accomplishment. Whether you think their success has come from Molly’s musical upbringing or their mix of talents in general, there’s no arguing that they’re taking over the musical world.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are Alvvays tickets?

Alvvays ticket prices will differ depending on the source and the seats. The best price for Alvvays tickets is usually around $28 a ticket, and that’s for nosebleed seats! If you want floor seats, or if you’re shopping for tickets at a popular venue, you could easily be looking at a few hundred dollars more.

How to buy Alvvays tickets?

Alvvays ticket prices are going to be pretty high if purchased directly from the box office. That means the best way to buy cheap Alvvays tickets is online through a ticket marketplace. Ticket marketplaces like Gametime are perfect because they put you in contact with resellers looking to move seats at a relative bargain. It’s the safest and most affordable way to get the best price for Alvvays tickets.

What’s Alvvays tour setlist?

You never know what’s going to happen at an Alvvays concert, but here’s the average tour setlist:

  • Adult Diversion
  • Hey
  • In Undertow
  • Plimsoll Punks
  • Lollipop (Ode to Jim)
  • Not My Baby
  • Echolalia
  • Archie, Marry Me
  • Dreams Tonite
  • Party Police
  • Saved by a Waif

How long is an Alvvays concert?

With such an epic setlist, you can expect Alvvays’s performance to last for around 90 minutes, from start to finish. When you take opening acts into account, you’re looking at two to three hours of entertainment.

How much are Alvvays floor seats?

The best way to see Alvvays live is up close and personal from the floor, but these seats are always super expensive. The cheap end of floor seats can easily be $70 to $214, and if you’re seeing Alvvays at a venue with stage pit seats it could be even more pricey.

Of course, there are ways around this. There’s a great strategy for cutting Alvvays ticket prices on floor seats and the best part is that it requires you to do literally nothing but wait. Waiting until the last minute can get you some great discounts because resellers with unsold seats don’t make any money. Wait it out and watch those prices drop to something more affordable, and then enjoy your floor seats!
