Alice Merton Tickets
You know how people aim to be “well-traveled?” Well, Alice Merton never really had a say in the matter. Her parents moved her around to all types of different countries growing up. She never really had a “home,” but she was able to experience and absorb many cultures over the years. This not only led to her being a well-rounded person, but it developed her as an artist, too.
That’s one reason none of her songs sound much alike. She has too many influences to narrow down when she’s writing songs. And her fans love that about her! She’s wise beyond her years, and more talented than any one human being has the right to be.
Early Life
We’ve already talked about how Alice moved around a lot as a kid. But where did music come into her life? In Ontario. It was there where she lived in her elementary school days, and started training her voice and playing the piano - all before the age of ten.
It wasn’t until her family moved to Germany, when she was a teenager, that she learned the guitar and started songwriting. She would go on to get a degree in composition and songwriting in Germany years later.
Hit the Ground Running
True Alice Merton fans will know that “Hit the Ground Running” isn’t just a description of how her early career went, but one of her first hugely successful hits. It won her the Jugend Kultrell Award for Acoustic Pop before she even had a true debut album.
She put out her first studio album, Mint, about a year later, and thanks to the success of “Hit the Ground Running,” she experienced international fame. Now Mint came out a few years ago, and we expect a new record soon.
