Alkaline Trio Tickets
Warped tour has made so many artists who they are today. It’s a shame that the concert series is no more, but as much as we miss our summers in hot, sweaty arenas, we’re still thankful for the bands they brought us.
One of those bands is Alkaline Trio. They played in the early years of Warped, riding on their late success in the late ’90s. Between Warped and the fans they already have, the band got so successful that one of the members, Matt Skiba, was recruited to be in the legendary band, Blink-182. For a band that started in the mild MidWest, there’s nothing mild about their music. It’s full of lyrics about heartbreak, anger, and just a little smattering of wanting to die. If you’re into punk music – that’s the trifecta!
Three or Four?
The band started as a trio (aka Alkaline trio). There was Matt Skiba on vocals and guitar, Rob Doran on bass, and Glenn Porter on the drums. But over the years, members have come and left the band, making the Alkaline Trio sometimes a foursome. One of the most successful personnel switch-a-roos was when Dan Andriano came on board and took over bass (and some songwriting). His experience with the band Slapstick gave Alkaline Trio an edge they hadn’t had before.
Big Opening Acts
The band hasn’t always been successful. At times the members had to work as bike messengers to make ends meet. But that all changed when the group started getting radio play, then got the chance to pen up for My Chemical Romance. Once they had that touring experience, nothing could stop the threesome (sometimes foursome) from letting their angst rule the air.
