Acid Dad Tickets
It’s hard to put a finger on Acid Dad’s genre. Are they garage rock? Punk? Psychedelic? The only thing we can come up with is that they’re a little of all three. Our inability to label them wouldn’t bother any of the members of the band – they like bending genres and breaking rules.
As it turns out, they’ve been bending and breaking rules since they were kids. Each member of the band started playing music before they graduated high school, and the youngest started when he was three! It’s safe to say that these musicians know what they’re doing – they’re just waiting for the masses to realize that.
The Four Friends
Vaughn Hunt and Kevin Walker met in college and started jamming together. It only took a few sessions for the two to realize they had something special, which is when they had the idea to officially form a band. The two knew they needed to bring more musicians on board, and Danny Gomez, another guitarist, was their first choice.
Things got tricky when they started looking for a bass player, however, since none of them wanted to stick around. The band has gone through six bass players in their short life, and none of them has stayed for more than a year. Their current bass player is JP Basileo, but that’s subject to change at any time.
Career Highs and Lows
Bassist retention issues aside, the band is growing quickly. It only took them four years to go from their first show at Twincest to a record deal with Greenway records in 2018. The Brooklyn-based band isn’t going to stop anytime soon, either. They’re due for another album soon, and if they don’t put it out, their fans may just riot.
