About U.S. Bank Stadium

US Bank Stadium

In the bustling city of Minneapolis, Minnesota you will find the US Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. The US Bank Stadium hosts many sporting events and concerts and offers transparent roofs, walls, and the world’s largest pivoting doors.

The History of the US Bank Stadium

The US Bank Stadium replaced the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in 2016. It is the first fixed-roof stadium the NFL has built since the Ford Field which opened in 2002. The enclosed stadium provides players and fans a much-needed shelter from the harsh northern weather. After all, football season takes place during the coldest months of the year. In 2018, the US Bank Stadium hosted the Super Bowl LII and in July 2018 the ESPN X Games were held here. The stadium will also host the 2020 NCAA Div. 1 Wrestling Championships.

All sorts of sporting events are held at the US Bank Stadium, including college baseball games. From Super Bowls to soccer matches and concerts, and with a capacity of 66,860, there really isn’t a type of event this stadium can’t handle. Some of the most famous music performers who have played here include Metallica, Luke Bryan, and many others. Prince was also meant to perform at the US Bank Stadium for the very first time in 2016 but sadly passed away before he could do so.
