Phil Collins Tickets

Phil Collins has had a wild career. From playing with legendary rock band Genesis to writing songs for movies, there’s pretty much nothing he can’t do. He even spent time working as an actor and has produced records for other artists in his spare time, which we can’t imagine he has much of.

If you include all the parts of his career, he has the most Top 40 singles of any artist who put out music in the 1980s. The list of top hits includes “In the Air Tonight,” arguably his most famous song. Though he’s not putting out music as quickly as he was in the 80s, he’s still playing music and touring. Early Life

Phil Collins comes to the US from London, where he lived for most of his childhood. He started playing drums when he was five, a hobby he still dabbles in today. When he wasn’t playing drums as a child, he was going to drama school and making it relatively big as a child actor. Acting was his go-to until he decided to join up with band Genesis in 1970. At first, he joined the band as their drummer but eventually advanced to be their lead singer.

Genesis and Beyond

After being with Genesis for ten years or so, Collins decided it was time to go it on his own. He put out “Face Value” in 1981, which made it big. The eighties were full of Phil Collins albums, all of which did well and established Phil as one of the biggest stars of the 80s. Which isn’t to say Collins isn’t still a star or left his career behind him. He has so many awards to his name. He probably needs an entire room just for his trophies.
