About Meridian Hall

Meridian Hall (Sony Centre)

Meridian Hall is a performing arts theater located near downtown Toronto. It’s a popular venue for concerts and any other type of artistic performance. The venue first opened in 1960 as the O’Keefe Centre and has also been known as the Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts and the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. In 2008, the building received a complete restoration and was re-opened in 2010. Meridian Hall is currently the largest soft-seat theatre in Canada and has a capacity of just over 3,100 people.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Meridian Hall

Orchestra sections 1-3 will be the best location for guests who want to be as close to the stage as possible at Meridian Hall. However, many of the best seats in the house can be found in Orchestra section 7, which offers a straight-ahead view of the stage with enough elevation to have a full view of the entire stage. Mezzanine sections 1 and 2 also have good views of the entire stage with even more elevation, while Balcony section 1 also offers a straight-ahead view of the stage.

Tips for Visiting Meridian Hall

For family-friendly shows at Meridian Hall, there are a limited number of booster seats available and a stroller check that’s available for families.
