About Crypto.com Arena

STAPLES Center

The STAPLES Center is a major sports and entertainment venue in Los Angeles. It’s known mostly as the Lakers' digs, but since opening in 1999, it’s also served as the home of the NBA’s Clippers, the WNBA’s Sparks, and the NHL’s Kings. In addition to hosting sporting events, the STAPLES Center regularly hosts the Grammy Awards, as well as other marquee events.

Best Places to Sit at the STAPLES Center

For STAPLES Center sports events, the best place to sit is obviously courtside, where the game is of secondary importance to the privilege of sitting next to celebrities – a tradition at Lakers games. Of course, those seats are out-of-this-world expensive. A good backup plan is to check out tickets in sections Premier 5 and Premier 14. Though still expensive, these seats are far more affordable than courtside tickets. They also offer a perfect view of the court, a private entrance, and in-seat service. Can't make it happen? No biggie – the cheapest Lakers tickets that still offer a great view of the action can be found in Section 325.

For concerts and other events, floor seating is your best bet if you want to be close to the stage and aren’t worried about a crowd. If you’re not up for floor seats, Sections 101, 102, 110, and 111 are located on the side of the stage setup and will still give you a close view of the artist. Finally, Sections 106, 107, 206, and 207 are good seats for STAPLES Center concerts, located directly across from the stage just slightly further away.

Tips for Visiting the STAPLES Center

When you attend a STAPLES Center event, be sure to take some time either before or after the game to check out Star Plaza right outside. It’s there where you’ll find 10 statues (and counting!) of some of the most prominent figures in Los Angeles sports history. Among those honored are Wayne Gretzky, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and broadcaster Chick Hearn.

Food to Try at the STAPLES Center

Los Angeles has some of the best restaurants in the world, and the food inside the STAPLES Center isn’t half bad either. It may not be Michelin star cuisine, but you can get a great chicken sandwich at Ludo Bird, a fine patty melt at the Spotlight Grill, and an excellent BBQ chicken pizza at Blaze Pizza. The list of dining options goes on, including burgers, tacos, a mac n’ cheese hot dog, and a sinful s’mores pie for dessert.
