Amine Tickets
There are a few famous songs about women named Caroline. The first one that comes to mind is “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond that no one can resist singing “Bum Bum Bum” along to in the car.
Then a little later in time came “Roses” by Outkast, which had people screaming “Caroliiiiiiiiiiiine” in their cars in the early 2000s. Then a few years ago, Amine came onto the scene with his hit “Caroline.” It wasn’t his first musical venture, but it was the one that got him the most attention. Before that, he’d put out albums such as En Vogue, Odyssey to Me, and Calling Brio.
Early Life
Born Adam Amine Daniel, Amine has an interesting background. His parents are from Ethiopia, meaning that he’s a first-generation American immigrant. But he didn’t let his immigrant status stop him from participating in a great American tradition: dis rap. He got his start in that genre at his high school in his home town of Portland, Oregon. He started writing tracks that dissed his rival high school, performing in the cafeteria and around the campus. That is when he wasn’t playing basketball for his high school. He’s a man of many talents!
Jimmy and Amine
Though Amine put out a few records before Caroline went big, that was the song that opened doors for him. One particular door it opened was the Stage Door of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he got a chance to perform. And with that nationwide TV audience, his career really started. He’s since signed with Republic Records and been rated one of the top ten in the XXL Freshman Class (an impressive honor). An honor, in retrospect, he’s shown he deserves.
