About Xfinity Theatre

Xfinity Theatre

When it comes to the Tri-State area: New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, you’ll come across some of the best concert venues around. One of the biggest and most successful standouts is the Xfinity Theatre, a hybrid indoor/outdoor arena located in Hartford, Connecticut, that can hold up to 30,000 screaming fans.

The History of the Xfinity Theatre

First opened in 1994, this indoor/outdoor amphitheater was originally known as the Connecticut Centre for the Performing Arts. Before long, though, the naming rights began to fly left and right, and this hybrid venue space soon became known as Meadows Music Theatre in 1994, which changed to the ctnow.com Meadows Music Theatre in 2000, which then changed again to the New England Dodge Music Center in 2005. Finally, Comcast bought the rights out in 2009, first calling it Comcast Theatre and then renaming it for its Xfinity cable brand in 2013. That’s a lot of names for a venue that’s just barely 25 years old!

What’s So Special about Xfinity Theatre Events?

The Xfinity Theatre is one of the state’s crown jewels, and it deserves all the attention and respect it gets. With 7,500 indoor seats available during the colder months and a total of 30,000 indoor and outdoor sports year-round, it’s always a good time at this amphitheater!
