Alison Moyet Tickets
Were you a fan of Yazoo? The band, not the similar-sounding chocolate powdered drink. If you were, then you can consider yourself an OG Alison Moyet fan. If you missed that short period of her career, you can still call yourself a fan. It was very short-lived, and honestly, even OG fans forget about that phase most of the time.
Whether you remember Upstairs at Eric’s or not, it’s great to know that Alison Moyet is going on tour again and that you can still get tickets! Want to get the best prices? Download the Gametime app! About Alison Moyet
We don’t blame Alison for shortening her name. It would be hard to succeed in the music industry with her birth name, at least her birth name in its entirety. It’s hard to fit Genevieve Alison Jane Moyet on an album label – don’t you agree?
Name aside, Alison grew up in Essex, which is where she met Vince Clarke. Clarke had a leg up on the music business, as he was an original member of Depeche Mode, a band that still gets radio play today. Vince and Alison got together to make the short-lived Yazoo before she set out on a solo career.
The Album, Alf
After separating from her band, Alison put out her first debut album, Alf, with Sony Music. It did well enough for a debut, charting in the top 40. That success led her to release Raindancing, Hoodoo, and Essex all in the span of 10 years. She took a break from music between ’94 and 2002 but came back with a splash with the album Hometime. Since that little break, she hasn’t gone more than five or six years without putting out new music – to our great pleasure. And that means she hasn’t stopped touring much, either.
