About Sutter Health Park

Sutter Health Park

Sutter Health Park is a minor league baseball stadium in West Sacramento, California. It serves as the home stadium for the Sacramento River Cats, who play in the Pacific Coast League and are the triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Sutter Health Park opened in 2000 as Raley Field but was renamed in 2019. While the stadium is on the West side of the Sacramento River, it’s close to the California State Capital and downtown Sacramento. For baseball games, Sutter Health Park has over 10,000 fixed seats, although its total capacity is over 14,000 fans, thanks to grass berms and standing-room-only locations.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Sutter Health Park

Outside the luxury boxes, the best places to sit at Sutter Health Park are in sections A, B, C, and D, as these areas make up the first few rows directly behind the plate. Sections 108-116 are also located close to the home plate, with sections 111-113 directly behind the plate. Of course, it’s worth noting that these sections have more than 20 rows, so there can be a big difference in the view between the first few rows in a section and the last few rows of a section. Seats further back in these sections should offer a better overall view of the field, even if they are a little further from the action.

Tips for Visiting Sutter Health Park

For fans who don’t want to be confined to a space, there is a grassy berm in the outfield where fans can sit. It’s even possible to bring low-sitting lawn chairs to that area. Fans will also be delighted to learn that parking is free at Sutter Health Park. There is a lot to do in downtown Sacramento, just across the river from the stadium, which opens up the possibility of hanging out downtown before the game and then walking over to the stadium. Once inside the stadium, fans should be encouraged to walk around and gaze at the artwork found throughout the stadium.

Food to Try at Sutter Health Park

One of the highlights of Sutter Health Park is the venue’s gourmet cheeseburgers and hot dogs. The hot dogs, in particular, are far better than the average sports venue. Oso’s Mexican Cantina offers tacos, nachos, and burritos, while the Sweet Spot offers root beer floats. Finally, Sutter Health Park has a walk-in beer fridge, allowing fans to take advantage of the wide selection of beverages available.
