U2 Tickets

Name an act more iconic than U2. Name a frontman with more style and presence than Bono, or a musician more multi-talented than The Edge, or songs that are more iconic. The list is short to nonexistent, isn’t it? That’s why U2 is one of the most successful music acts of all time – and why U2 tickets are always in demand.

Humble Beginnings

When you’ve been together as long as U2, you’ve definitely got something special going on. The band was founded in 1975, back when the guys were all still in school in Dublin. Imagine if your high school garage band signed a major record deal and cut an album in just five years – and maaaybe you’d understand the insanity that is U2’s early years.

Hot on the heels of their 1980 debut album Boy, U2 debuted several tracks that put them on the map. “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” the ultra-political anthem about the Bloody Sunday massacre in 1972, would help rocket the band to fame on 1983’s War. Their follow-up album the following year, The Unforgettable Fire, featured the song “In the Name of Love,” which commemorates the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. It wouldn’t be the last time the band would address hot-button topics head-on.

Super-Stardom and Beyond

The '80s and '90s provided more of the same for U2, as their post-punk rock anthems filled arenas around the world. Renowned for their energetic, elaborate live shows, the band has gone on to sell more than 170 million records worldwide.

Outspoken lyrics and soaring guitar riffs light fires in the hearts of concertgoers, and Bono and the rest of the band have famously used that to their advantage. Involved in multiple charities and unafraid to speak their minds, U2 has been a constant presence on stages around the globe, protesting war, poverty, and violence just as they did back in the beginning. Going strong nearly 40 years later, there’s no stopping this group of Irish superstars!
