About Spectrum Center

Spectrum Center

The Spectrum Centre is home to the Charlotte Bobcats, although its name is slightly over just three years old. The stadium itself has been around for over three decades; and almost everyone knows that Michael Jordan, arguably the best NBA baller ever, is a majority shareholder in the Hornets team. It may not win them any favors, but it certainly raises their bragging rights with the who’s who!

The Food

You’ll find almost any kind of meal you’re looking for at the Spectrum Center, from classic hot dogs to made-to-order turkey sandwiches with fresh veggies. Download the Hornets app, which allows you to preorder and prepay for food and pick them up at designated sites throughout the center. Food items may also be delivered to your seats if you’re in the right sections.

One thing to love is that there is something for everyone at every budget: barbeque, pizza, chicken, snacks, and fries. Premium options are available at the Front Court Club. Enjoy unlimited refills of your favorite beverage in large or regular Hornets collector cups. Look out for the whiskey carts as well.

You must try the made-to-order fully loaded nachos – they may set you back $14, but they’re freshly made tortilla chips laid out with any ingredients you choose. Find them in the North and South Lounges if you’re on Club Seats.

The Atmosphere

The Spectrum Center’s ambiance makes for a memorable night out. Top on the list is its scoreboard which is the NBA’s tallest board at over 25 feet. Its unique honeycomb design includes multiple screens with their signature teal color scheme.

There are loads of screens and speakers to ensure everyone in the stadium has a complete experience. Arena seats are comfortable and added with cup holders, while the suites feature leather seating, TVs, tables and a serving area for food and beverages.

Fun fact, if you miss the first row of the suites, you can still go for the seats on the first rows of the side sections in the upper levels – you have the same view, but you save hundreds of dollars.

Things to Do Around the Spectrum Center

The Spectrum Center is located in Uptown, downtown Charlotte (no, the irony is not lost on us either). You won’t be wanting for entertainment and nightlife options, as this area is teeming with restaurants, bars, shops, and family entertainment joints. You can rent an Airbnb home or stay at any one of the many hotels located within walking distance from the Spectrum Center. On the weekend with a Hornets’ game, you can park your car and walk around the many day-and-night spots for an unforgettable Uptown Charlotte experience.
