All for the Hall Tickets
There’s a hall of fame for just about everything. There’s the Football Hall of Fame, the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Blues Hall of Fame, and the list goes on and on. Therefore it shouldn’t surprise anyone that there’s a Country Music Hall of Fame. And it’s located in, where else(?), Nashville, Tennessee.
The CMHF is open to the public and is like a museum, with some artifacts from classic country stars and more information than any one person could ever process. But what we bet you didn’t know about the CMHF is that it’s not (wholly) funded by any big companies. It relies on admissions, donations, and the proceeds from events like All for the Hall. Funding the Hall is essential, as music education programs are a large part of their expenses. They could be funding a program that creates the next Country music star!
What is All for the Hall?
In the early 2000s, country music staple Vince Gill wondered aloud why there’s not a benefit concert to raise money for the Country Hall of Fame. After all, how were they going to keep honoring him if they didn’t have money to put on concerts and hold ceremonies? So he got a bunch of his friends (Country Musics’ best) together and created this event. The first one was in 2007 and featured Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris as both headliners, and hosts.
Ten Plus Years and Counting
2017 marked the tenth anniversary of the concert and it’s not stopping any time soon. It’s one of the biggest nights for Country music all year, and it’s for a cause we can all get behind: more music! So when you’re buying your tickets, you’re basically being charitable. See? Now you feel good about spending your money.
