About Tim Hortons Field

Tim Hortons Field

Tim Hortons Field is a multi-purpose sports stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The stadium opened in 2014, replacing Ivor Wynne Stadium as the home stadium of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. In 2019, Tom Hortons Field also became the home stadium for soccer team Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League. The stadium was also used for soccer games during the 2015 Pan American Games. The current capacity of Tim Hortons Field is a little over 23,000 fans, although it has the potential to be expanded to 40,000 fans, which could allow the stadium to host the Grey Cup and other prominent events.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Tim Hortons Field

Club Level seating at Tim Hortons Field gives fans the best vantage point in the stadium, not to mention the best amenities. Specifically, sections C5, C6, and C7 will be closest to midfield. Outside of the club level, sections 104-106 and 114-116 are on the lower level of the stadium and close to midfield. However, sections 214-216 and 204-206 may provide a better overall view of the entire field while also being close to midfield.

Tips for Visiting Tim Hortons Field

There is limited seating in the areas behind both end zones at Tim Hortons Field because those areas are set aside for pre-game and in-game socializing. The north side of the stadium is home to the Coors Light Patio, while the south side of the stadium is home to the Touchdown Lounge. Both are areas where fans can eat, drink, and congregate during games. Perhaps more importantly, no visit to Tim Hortons Field is complete without checking out the Canadian Football Hall of Fame & Museum, which is located on the west side of the stadium. It’s filled with exhibits and artifacts from both the CFL and Canadian college football.

Food to Try at Tim Hortons Field

The location of Tim Hortons Field leaves it somewhat isolated from many restaurants. However, in-stadium food options more than make up for that. There is a diverse array of Canadian favorites, including Buffalo Chicken Poutine and the Bacon Smashburger. The La Balsama taco stand is also a fan favorite at Tim Hortons Field. Naturally, the stadium also has coffee and Timbits provided by its namesake. Finally, Craft Gardens and the Bench Brewing Company provide a place for visitors to Tim Hortons Field to find local craft beers.
