About Echo Beach
Echo Beach is an outdoor concert venue in Toronto. It first opened in 2011 and is located on East Island, which is ironically located west of downtown Toronto. True to its name, Echo Beach is located close to the water and has a lot of green space. As an outdoor venue, Echo Beach is used primarily for concerts during the summer. In fact, the main area around the stage is made up of sand, giving visitors the option of dancing barefoot in the sand. Echo Beach has a capacity of 5,000 visitors, limiting it to bands that attract smaller crowds. However, it’s become a popular music venue in Toronto for both daytime and nighttime concerts while the weather is warm and features amazing views of the Toronto skyline.
Where are the Best Places to Sit at Echo Beach
Outside of a pair of small VIP sections, every ticket to a show at Echo Beach is general admission. Visitors are able to bring blankets to place on the sand, although seating is otherwise limited. This allows visitors to dance in the sand and walk around during the performance. However, guests are encouraged to arrive early if they want to stake out a particular spot.
Tips for Visiting Echo Beach
It’s important to be aware of the weather when going to shows at Echo Beach. If it’s just raining but nothing more, the show will go on as planned. However, a lot of rain can turn the sand into a little bit of a mess. It’s also worth noting that there are no video boards next to the stage. Folks who don’t stake out a place close to the stage can sometimes have difficulty seeing the performer, although there is nothing wrong with the acoustics at Echo Beach.
Food to Try at Echo Beach
There is a full bar at Echo Beach with plenty of drink options and snacks. For most shows, local food trucks set up shop at the venue and offer a variety of dining options. However, the food trucks present can vary from one event to the next. Since Echo Beach is a few miles from downtown Toronto, there aren’t a lot of dining options nearby. However, there is a restaurant called Vista Eatery that’s located on East Island and within walking distance of Echo Beach.
